Filter RSS feeds to get what you want

Filed under: Internet, Tips No Responses

How many times did you wish, you could filter out your RSS feed subscriptions? Wished that you only get the posts or articles from some specific categories you’re interested in?

By using Feed Rinse you can. It is a free service using which you can set up your own rules or filters to be applied to the RSS feeds of your choice. You can even filter out entries containing information such as specific keywords, author, or tag.

For example, let’s say you want to filter out posts which contain the word “cellphone”. Then all you have to do is setup the filter for the feed and export your rinsed feed. (See the figure below)

You can setup the service to filter out the bad words. Many offending words are replaced with @$!* and the post contains a quick note in the end to let you know that it was modified.

So, next time you think that a RSS feed contains some spam and some good stuff, you know how to apply the spam filter.
